Summer is here and that means corn on the cob! Corn is a staple of summertime food whether you are cooking in or getting some outdoor BBQ going. Some people actually have corn on the cob everyday in the summer!
Cooking is easy, its the prep that takes a minute. You need to peel the husk off completely, and when you have a dozen ears for friends and family, it can take a while, not to mention it definitely gets messy! Well it turns out there is a trick to doing this and youll be amazed at how you may have not heard of this before.
Here is the absolute easiest way to shuck corn on the cob!
Check this method out:
You first take your corn, lay flat and make sure its secure on the cutting board then take a sharp knife and, very carefully, cut about an inch off the end where it grows from the stalk. Next put the corn in the microwave for 2-4 minutes. Now remove it and let it sit so it cools down. The part that you didnt cut, grab that end and shake it and the ear should slide out from the husk!
All ready to cook!
Heres another tip. When you bring a pot of water to a boil, put a little bit of milk to it. Then place the ears in the milky water, boil for about five minutes. Now drain when done. This actually creates very sweet and delicious corn!
